Louise took over as CEO at Amphio in February 2016. She has held the position of CEO or equivalent in several publishers, including Reed Elsevier Education ANZ, OUP Reference and Rodale Books UK. Her dotcom start-up was absorbed by Britannica.com in 1997 and she moved to the US for two years.
After four years at The National Gallery, London, Louise joined Amphio (then Touchpress) in 2011, winning a BAFTA in 2014 as Producer of Disney Animated.
Alan joined Amphio (then Touchpress) in 2012. Previously he studied Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister) before working as a technical engineer at Air and Strongroom Studios. He now oversees the engineering, design and production team as well as getting hands on writing Python scripts and deploying infrastructure.
Outside of Amphio, Alan has exhibited sound and light installations such as Helmholtz at the Roundhouse and enjoys hiking, climbing and cycling.
George joined Amphio after graduating in Mathematics (Warwick) in 2013, working on the Incredible Numbers app.
Now a Product Manager, he guides projects through concept development, production, release and beyond, working with clients such as Fondation Louis Vuitton and G. Henle Verlag on subjects ranging from classical music notation to the simulation of molecules.
Mari has been with Amphio since 2013. Starting out as a Assistant Producer, she helped out with localisations and worked on the production of The Elements, Barefoot World Atlas, Disney Animated, and others.
Mari is now Production Coordinator; managing resources and schedules to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Jamie is a polyglot software engineer and former junior doctor who has designed, implemented, deployed and maintained software systems in a broad range of domains, using a variety of languages.
When not honing his Vim configuration, Jamie can be found on ski trips, at a musical or reading wikipedia.
Sam oversees design at Amphio. He is involved throughout the product development cycle; starting with initial design thinking, validating ideas through user-testing prototypes before working on high-fidelity designs and helping with their front-end implementation.
After graduating with first-class honours in Graphic Design (Sheffield Hallam), he worked at We Love Digital and freelanced for Comic Relief & the NHS before joining Amphio in 2014.
James is our resident video production expert. Working from initial concept through to post-production and release, his professional attitude and attention to detail ensure that all needs are thoroughly explored before ideas are immortalised in video.
James received first class honours in audio technology (UWE), transferring these skills to video production through experience at Apple and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Sarah is our in-house video editor, product tester, music composer, prototyper, and meteorological phenomenon.
Sarah has gathered her versatile skills from her previous work, ranging from certified Apple software trainer to video editor and music workshop leader for the London Symphony Orchestra.
Outside work, Sarah enjoys playing in her band (Barnacles), football and climbing.
Oscar is a marketing consultant specialising in the music and cultural space.
Alongside his role at Amphio he has worked with the Content Operations team at Spotify and as a producer for Radio Sweden.
He’s currently based between Athens and London, constantly on the hunt for new disco records.
Michael became Chair at Amphio after leading a round of investment in 2012.
He has had experience of chairing, advising, raising finance for and managing many small companies. His activities include the Angel CoFund, Green Angel Syndicate and two charity boards. He is the co-author of ‘Successful Business Plans’.
Richard joined the Amphio Board in 2017. From 2007 until June 2018, he was Executive Director (now Consultant) at Bloomsbury Publishing Plc.
He has held senior roles at several major publishers including Reed Elsevier and Macmillan, is a Non-Executive Director of the Institute of Physics Publishing and Liverpool University Press, Visiting Professor at the University of the Arts London, and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at University College London.
